A legal practitioner in Minna, Ibrahim Angulu, has urged the Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Ebenezer Shawulu Danmaman, to investigate ongoing violent clashes between Washi and Kashikoko communities in Lavun Local Government Area. Angulu’s petition, addressed to Danmaman, highlights the destruction of farmlands and properties in Washi by Kashikoko residents.

The petition details repeated assaults and property damage suffered by Washi residents at the hands of the Kashikoko community, emphasizing the loss of valuable farmland, fish ponds, and other properties. Furthermore, it mentions the armed attacks, leading to the death of Adam Zabokun, and the subsequent arrest and release of suspects.

Angulu’s plea emphasizes the breakdown of law and order due to the dispute over farmland and calls for urgent intervention to protect Washi residents from further attacks. He appeals to the Niger CP and other security agencies to take proactive measures in halting the cycle of violence between the two communities. This petition underscores the urgency of addressing the escalating tensions and the need for immediate intervention to ensure the safety and security of all residents involved.
