Kannywood star, Adam Zango, disclosed his struggle with depression following his separation from his wife, Sadiya Umar Chalawa. In an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, he candidly shared the challenges he faced, including conflicts within the film industry, family issues, and the misrepresentation of his words.

Zango admitted to initially vowing against remarriage out of frustration, but later reconsidered his decision. He revealed that he is currently undergoing psychotherapy to cope with the emotional turmoil.

Speaking about his emotional journey, Zango stated, “I am one of those facing challenges in Kannywood; I suffered the most. If hundreds of people in this industry can say something, nothing will happen, but if I utter a word, some people will start misinterpreting me.” He further explained how these struggles affected his mental well-being and led to a loss of focus.

The actor highlighted the significance of seeking professional help for depression and expressed gratitude for the support he received from his mother, fans, and himself during his recovery process.

Addressing the topic of reconciliation with his estranged wife, Zango disclosed that they have not reconciled and he has learned she is planning to remarry. Despite this, he emphasized his intention to marry again to preserve his dignity, that of his children, and his mother.

Zango attributed the breakdown of his previous marriage to excessive use of social media, which led to discord. He shared his intention to prioritize a potential spouse’s family background in future relationships, drawing from lessons learned from his past experiences.
