CAF Extends Support to Osimhen Despite Nigeria’s AFCON Defeat

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) reached out to offer solace to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final. Despite Osimhen’s commendable performance throughout the tournament, Nigeria succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Ivory Coast.

Ivory Coast’s Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller secured their team’s victory by scoring the crucial goals, ultimately clinching their third AFCON trophy. William Troost-Ekong managed to score one for the Super Eagles during the match.

In a post-game tweet, CAF conveyed a message of support to Osimhen, applauding his efforts, stating: “Heads up Victor, you made your country proud. #TotalEnergiesAFCON2023Final.”
