The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, has underscored the urgency for party members to unite in the face of widespread hunger and frustration in Nigeria.

The PDP governors convened on Tuesday and voiced concerns about the alarming increase in abductions, escalating food prices, and other criminal activities. They expressed that Nigeria, under President Bola Tinubu’s APC-led Federal Government, is beginning to resemble the situation in Venezuela.

During the party’s 76th Board of Trustees meeting in Abuja, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum emphasized the absence of room for division within the party and urged leaders to strategically promote the party’s agenda to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.

The acting Chairman of the PDP BoT, Adolphus Wabara, alleged plans to transform Nigeria into a one-party state and emphasized the pivotal role of the PDP in upholding democracy in Nigeria.

In support, the PDP acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, emphasized the imperative need to rebuild and fortify the party, encouraging active participation from all stakeholders.

Former governors and prominent party members including Ahmed Makarfi, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Sule Lamido, Attahiru Bafarawa, Kabiru Turaki, Sam Anyanwu, Umar Bature, Adamu Maina Waziri, Aminu Bashir Wali, and Ibrahim Tsauri, among others, were in attendance.
