President Tinubu Set to Attend 37th African Union Summit in Ethiopia

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will take part in the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

The theme of the summit is ‘Educate an African fit for the 21st century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.’

According to Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu will engage in high-level meetings concerning institutional reforms of the AU, peace and security, and specific thematic issues like climate change. Additionally, he will discuss the modalities of participation and priorities of the continental body in the G20.

During the summit, President Tinubu will also participate in an extraordinary summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in his capacity as the Chairman of the regional body.

Accompanied by ministers and other top government officials, President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja at the end of the summit.
