Benue APC Chairman, Austin Agada, Reinstated and Resumes Office

Austin Agada, the reinstated Chairman of the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has returned to work at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi, the state capital.

After facing initial resistance from security forces, Agada was eventually granted entry, putting an end to his suspension and legal battle. The party’s internal crisis had previously led to Agada’s suspension by the Ehaje Ward 1 Executive Committee, preventing him from carrying out his duties as Chairman.

However, a recent ruling by the Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Maurice Ikpambese, overturned the suspension order, allowing Agada to resume his responsibilities as Chairman.

In a statement to journalists and party supporters upon resuming office, Agada emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He urged members to refrain from actions that could jeopardize the party’s unity, metaphorically describing the APC as a large tree that provides shelter for all.

Agada extended an olive branch to members who had previously supported candidates from other parties during elections, calling for solidarity in building a stronger Benue State under the APC administration of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

He expressed gratitude to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Sen. George Akume, for his dedication to the APC’s success and for ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends. Additionally, he commended the efforts of the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government in advancing the country’s fortunes.
