Former South African Star Confident of Bafana Bafana Victory in 2026 WCQ Clash Against Nigeria

Renowned ex-South Africa player, Doctor Khumalo, has expressed his belief in the Bafana Bafana’s ability to emerge victorious against Nigeria in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in June.
Both Nigeria and South Africa are placed in Group C of the World Cup qualifiers, where they will compete against Rwanda, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and the Republic of Benin.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have secured draws in their initial games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, while South Africa achieved a victory over Benin and suffered a defeat to Rwanda.
Despite the differing results, Khumalo, pointing to both teams’ impressive performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, firmly believes that South Africa can overcome Nigeria. He even went as far as to assert, “I can bet all my money.”
“Let’s give Hugo [South Africa coach] support and allow Helman, the staff, and the boys to continue the way they did in Ivory Coast,” Khumalo emphasized in an interview with SABC News.
“After observing the team’s display in Ivory Coast, I am confident that South Africa can overcome the challenge posed by Nigeria and secure victory in our group.”
