Super Falcons’ Nicole Payne Joins Portland Thorns FC on Loan

Nigerian national team defender, Nicole Payne, has signed a season-long loan deal with American club, Portland Thorns FC.
Since her transfer from the University of South California to Paris Saint-Germain last year, Payne has struggled to secure regular playing time. Seeking more opportunities on the field, the left-back made the move to Thorns FC.
The 23-year-old has had limited game time, featuring in only four matches for PSG this season. Notably, Payne’s elder sister, Toni, is a regular member of the Super Falcons, showcasing the family’s strong footballing ties.
With seven appearances for Nigeria under her belt, Payne’s loan to Portland Thorns FC marks a significant move in her career.
