Reports from City & Crime indicate that fourteen individuals have been captured by gunmen in the village of Amala-Dam located in the Kachia Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, Nigeria. Amala-Dam shares a border with Janjala village along the River Gurara in Kagarko LGA.

An eyewitness, Usman Kabiru from Janjala, affirmed the abduction via telephone, stating that the event transpired around 11pm on Saturday. Kabiru mentioned that the assailants initially raided a herders’ settlement in Janjala, abducting a 73-year-old man named Alhaji Dariye. Subsequently, they proceeded to Amala-Dam, securing the capture of 13 additional individuals.

Kabiru added that the bandits exploited the withdrawal of deployed troops, who had recently cleared the bandits’ camps in the region, to execute their nefarious activities.

As of now, the Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesperson, CSP Mansur Hassan, has yet to provide official confirmation of the incident.
