The Nigeria National League (NNL) has pledged to maintain fairness and firmness in dealing with all clubs for the remainder of the season. Yakubu Sarma, chairman of the disciplinary and organizing committee, made this commitment in Abuja, emphasizing the league’s zero tolerance for hooliganism.
Sarma urged clubs to adhere to the rules during the crucial second half of the ongoing season, acknowledging the challenges ahead. He highlighted the committee’s prompt and impartial handling of protests and sanctions against clubs, as well as recommendations for referees and match commissioners in the first round.
Looking ahead, Sarma stressed the NNL’s preparedness to handle the potentially intense competition in the second half, expressing determination to address any club’s desperate measures to secure top positions or avoid relegation. He assured that the league will maintain a strict yet fair approach, particularly in combating hooliganism, and appealed to clubs to uphold the rules.
Sarma emphasized the league’s vision for an enjoyable and sportsmanlike environment, where fans can embrace any match outcome while supporting their respective clubs. The second half of the season is slated to commence next month.
