FRSC promotes 3,628, appoints 2 DCMs

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has announced the promotion of 3, 628 marshals and appointment of two Deputy Corps Marshals, DCMs.

The corps spokesman, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Mr Kazeem said that the promotion of the 3, 628 officers was ratified by the FRSC board after it deliberated on the resolution of Corps’ Establishment Committee.

He said that the newly appointed DCMs, Kayode Olagunju and Peter Kibo, were to proceed on terminal leave with immediate effect.

Mr Olagunju was the commandant, FRSC Academy Udi in Enugu State, while Kibo was the zonal commanding officer, Lagos.

According to him, out of the 3,628 officers promoted, 84 are deputy corps commanders who were elevated to the rank of corps commanders.

“211 Assistant Corps Commanders to the rank of Deputy Corps Commanders, 52 Chief Route Commanders to the rank of Assistant Corps Commanders and 716 Superintendent Route Commanders to the rank of Route Commanders,” he added.

Mr Kazeem also said that 1,092 route commanders were elevated to the rank of superintendent route commanders.

He added that 691 deputy route commanders moved to the the rank of route commanders, while 782 assistant route commanders were elevated to rank of deputy route commanders.

According to him, the FRSC board chairman, Bukhari Bello, expressed delight over the height of transparency and objectivity that heralded the promotion process.

Mr Bello urged the promoted officers to show more commitment and rededicate themselves to achieving the corporate mission of the Corps.

This, he said, include the the eradication of road traffic crashes and creating safer motoring environment in the country.

He added that the promotion exercise was part of the commission’s drive towards rewarding excellence, diligence and hard work.

The corps marshal, Dauda Biu, congratulated the newly elevated officers for their excellent performances, but said the Corps expected more from them.

Mr Biu stressed that every promotion comes with greater responsibilities, as such they must put in their best, be more focused and discharge their duties with dedication, commitment and passion.

The corps marshal promised to improve the general welfare of all personnel of the Corps and urged them to be of good character and put greater efforts towards the realisation of the corporate mandate of the Corps.
