Exclusive: ONSA Orders Return of Government Property from CBN Investigator Jim Obazee

Following an investigative report by DAILY NIGERIAN on alleged intimidation by Jim Obazee, the Special Investigator appointed by President Bola Tinubu to probe former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has taken action. Reports suggest that ONSA has summoned Jim Obazee amidst claims of unauthorized raids by his team.
The scrutiny began when President Tinubu designated Mr. Obazee, the former CEO of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, as the special investigator for the Central Bank. Obazee’s team later accused the former CBN governor of financial mismanagement via contract scams and other fraudulent activities.
Despite the expiration of his mandate, sources reveal that Obazee’s team continued operations, prompting the ONSA to intervene. He was instructed to return all government property, including official vehicles, and cease all activities immediately.
Zakari U. Mijinyawa, the ONSA’s Head of Strategic Communication, did not respond to requests for comments.
