Benue Ex-Governor Ortom Denies APC Defection Rumors

Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, strongly denies speculation about switching to the All Progressives Congress (APC) party. Ortom reiterated his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during an extended executive meeting on Monday.

Ortom emphasized, “I am not joining APC. The leadership role in my state is a responsibility I value and will not abandon. I have not been approached by the APC, and I am not one to switch parties casually. I am dedicated to the PDP. Let’s focus on regaining power through strategic planning for the future, learning from our past experiences.”

Addressing purported conflicts with ex-Governor Gabriel Suswam and Senator Abba Moro, Ortom clarified, “PDP remains the robust party that listens to the people’s needs. We are revitalizing the party for a stronger tomorrow. Together, we will triumph in upcoming elections. There are no rifts between Moro, Suswam, and me.”

Ortom’s stance underscores a commitment to the PDP and the unity required to propel the party forward, aiming for electoral victories while maintaining political cohesion and vision.
