‘I said hello’ – Pochettino dismisses claims he ignored Boehly after FA Cup final defeat

Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino has refuted claims that he ignored the club’s co-owner Todd Boehly after Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final defeat against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday.
Recall that Liverpool defeated Chelsea, thanks to a 118th minute winner from Virgil van Dijk, denying Pochettino a first trophy in English football.
However, as Pochettino went to receive his runners-up medal, the Argentine appeared to made his way along the long line of officials and dignitaries, including a red-faced Boehly, and appeared to ignore the owner and chairman.
But speaking on the development at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup tie with Leeds United on Wednesday, Pochettino claimed there was no rift between him and the club’s owners, saying: “Yes [I feel the support of the board].
“After the game, Todd sent a really nice message.
“We were talking and I said hello when I saw them in the stadium. I met Behdad [Eghbali, co-owner] after and we were talking, we were talking.
“We were sharing the opinion of the game, we were talking about the opportunity we missed to win a trophy because we played really well in 90 minutes. We were not clinical enough.”
