The Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority says it has set up a committee to monitor and control illegal private layouts across the state.
Ibrahim Adamu, Managing Director of Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority, stated this while briefing newsmen on Wednesday in Kano.
He said the committee’s assignment includes checking illegal layouts and expanding others to be of normal standard.

“The committee has been able to access 68 layouts in different locations across the state and they have been served notice.

“Out of the identified number, 42 have responded and submitted their documents to cross-check.

“The agency has approved two layouts, the first one is situated at Yar’gaya in Maiduguri Road, while the second one is at Zuwachiki.
“Another one has also been created along Gwarzo Road in order to build 1,000 homes for renewed hope of urban planning by President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
On how best to curtail unapproved layouts, the managing director said, “the state government has set up a designated court to handle that and anyone found wanting will serve three month jail term depending on gravity of the offence.NAN
