NNPP Chieftain Advises Primate Ayodele to Focus on Spiritual Work

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a prominent member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has issued a strong recommendation to Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, advising him to focus on his spiritual duties and refrain from involvement in politics.

In a statement released to Media Talk Africa on Saturday, Oguntoyinbo expressed his surprise at Ayodele’s recent comments regarding the NNPP candidate in the upcoming Edo State governorship election, Azembe Arena. Ayodele had suggested that Arena would not achieve success in the election and would only waste his resources by pursuing his political aspirations.

Oguntoyinbo criticized Ayodele for delving into political matters, urging him to prioritize his spiritual responsibilities instead. He questioned why Ayodele had chosen to involve himself in politics and advised him to concentrate on his church work.

“Our candidate has not sought your assistance, whether spiritual or financial, in relation to Azembe. Why not focus on your spiritual duties? Why meddle in politics?” Oguntoyinbo remarked.

He cautioned Ayodele that by venturing into politics, he risked tarnishing his reputation and losing respect. Oguntoyinbo emphasized that as a spiritual leader, Ayodele had a multitude of responsibilities within his church community that should take precedence over involvement in political affairs.

“It is not your place to determine the fate of our candidate’s resources. Did God instruct you to deliver such a message?” Oguntoyinbo questioned.

The NNPP representative concluded by urging Ayodele to refrain from entangling himself in political matters and to instead focus on his spiritual calling. By doing so, Oguntoyinbo suggested, Ayodele could avoid compromising his integrity and credibility as a spiritual leader.
