Nigerian singer and producer Timi Dakolo has urged his fellow citizens to avoid negative gatherings that claim to be religious. Posting on Instagram, he cautioned Nigerians to be extremely careful about the religious events they attend, emphasizing that God did not create anyone to endure suffering and curses. “Avoid religious gatherings that only see bad things. God didn’t create you and envelope you in suffering and curses. God is love. God loves you,” he wrote.
The News Agency of Nigeria also reported that Dakolo previously advised people to be mindful of who they allow to lay hands on them during prayers. He warned parents not to permit strangers to lay hands on their children, especially if they have been careless in the past.
Dakolo is a celebrated Nigerian singer, songwriter and music producer, known for his powerful vocal talent. He first rose to prominence in 2007 after winning the reality TV show Idols West Africa. Humberto Gatica, a 16‑time Grammy‑winning producer who has worked with Michael Bublé, Michael Jackson and Celine Dion, dubbed him “the golden voice of Africa.” In 2011, Dakolo released his debut album *Beautiful Noise*, which received positive reviews and featured heartfelt songs such as “Merry Christmas, Darling.” His second album is a collection of Christmas carols backed by the London Symphony Orchestra, blending his distinctive voice with classic arrangements. His 2021 single “Everything (Amen)” has amassed millions of streams on digital platforms.
Beyond his musical achievements, Dakolo has contributed significantly to the growth of the entertainment industry. He is married and a father of three children.
