Foluke Daramola‑Salako, a popular actress and filmmaker, says she can tolerate infidelity by her spouse but cannot condone abuse. She explained to Saturday Beats that having different political opinions from her husband, Kayode Salako, is not a problem. “The fact that my husband is a chieftain of the Labour Party does not change the fact that we are married and we respect each other’s opinions and feelings,” she said. “If someone tries to lord their opinions over me, I would see it as a form of abuse. I can deal with infidelity in relationships and marriage, but I cannot deal with any form of abuse. If my husband were domineering or I felt in bondage, the relationship wouldn’t work. So far, he has been liberal, and it is working for us.”
The actress, a supporter of the All Progressives Congress, also emphasized that she is no novice in politics. “I studied International Law and Relations in school and was a director of socials with the student union at one time. I have always been politically inclined. Acting was a means of survival for me, but politics is my first love,” she noted.
Despite her political interests, Daramola‑Salako assured fans that she has no plans to pause her acting career. She highlighted the importance of family, saying she had not seen her children for two years but still managed to create time to travel and be with them despite work pressures. “I am always ready to give whatever I love my time and dedication. I am a passionate person. Once I set out to do anything, nobody can discourage me from doing it. But if I am heartbroken, I will be out for good.”
