President Bola Tinubu has made a solemn promise to honor the memory of the military personnel who tragically lost their lives in Okuoma Community, Delta State. In a heartfelt gesture, he has vowed to ensure that the fallen heroes receive a dignified burial and national honors, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice they made for Nigeria.

The recent incident in Delta State, where 17 military personnel were killed while on a peacekeeping mission, has sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters. President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

In a plea to the National Assembly, the President urged lawmakers to exercise restraint in summoning government officials before parliamentary committees. While oversight is crucial for transparency and accountability, excessive summoning can disrupt operations and hinder service delivery. President Tinubu called for a balanced approach, emphasizing the need to respect the primary duties of each agency and avoid unnecessary disruptions.

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts between the executive and the legislature, President Tinubu commended the National Assembly for their role in passing key legislation to benefit Nigerians. He encouraged legislators to remain connected to their constituencies and extend compassion to the less privileged during the holy month of Ramadan.

During a Ramadan fast-breaking event in Abuja, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas echoed the importance of forgiveness, generosity, and unity in the nation. He emphasized the need for continued support for President Tinubu and highlighted the positive synergy between the executive and the legislature in driving progress for the country.

As the administration approaches its 10th month, the Speaker reaffirmed the commitment of the House to work harmoniously with the President to advance the nation’s interests. The call for unity, compassion, and collective effort resonates as Nigeria navigates challenges and strives towards a brighter future for all its citizens.
