The Accord Party has officially announced Comrade Kennedy Iyere as its candidate for the upcoming Edo State governorship election. In a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, the party clarified that there has been misleading information circulating regarding the Deputy governorship candidate, Bright Enabulele, falsely claiming to be the flagbearer.

The party emphasized that Comrade Kennedy Iyere emerged as the rightful governorship candidate after winning the party’s primaries on February 17, 2024. His candidacy has been duly registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Bright Enabulele, on the other hand, is confirmed as Iyere’s running mate.

Accord Party expressed concern over the misinformation spread by Enabulele, cautioning against the potential to incite unnecessary tensions in the political sphere. The party urged its members and the public to disregard this false narrative and called for professionalism and responsibility from politicians in their statements.

It is crucial to maintain transparency and accuracy in political discourse to avoid discord among party members and prevent misleading the public. Let us uphold integrity and honesty in our political engagements for the betterment of our society.
