TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan Secure Group Phase Spots

Chad and Eswatini have successfully secured their spots in the group phase of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Morocco 2025. In a thrilling display of skill and determination, both teams emerged victorious in their second-leg matches of the preliminary stage on Tuesday.

Eswatini, playing against Somalia at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa, managed to secure a 2-2 draw, advancing with a convincing 5-2 aggregate score thanks to their impressive 3-0 victory in the first leg. Meanwhile, Chad defeated Mauritius 2-1 at the National Sports Complex Pitch 1 in Saint Pierre, advancing with a 3-1 aggregate score.

Joining them in the next round are Liberia and South Sudan, who also progressed despite drawing in their second-leg ties. Liberia played a goalless draw against Djibouti at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia, securing a 2-0 aggregate score following their victory in the first leg. South Sudan also played to a 0-0 draw against Sao Tome and Principe in Berkane, Morocco, advancing on the away goals rule after securing a crucial away goal in the first leg encounter.

With their impressive performances, Chad, Eswatini, Liberia, and South Sudan will now set their sights on the next phase of the qualifiers, where they will join the 44 exempted countries for the group stage of the qualifiers.
