NNPP South West Chapter Opposes Attempt to Change Party Logo

The South West chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is facing a potential crisis as there are talks of changing the party’s logo, a symbol that has been in place for two decades. The zone is adamant about preserving the current logo, with the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kilamuwaye Badmus, stating that the proposed change is not acceptable to the members in the region.

In a statement released in Ibadan, Mr. Badmus emphasized that the leaders and members of NNPP in the Southern Region are united in their opposition to altering the logo. He pointed out that the decision to change the logo was made without consulting any members from the zone, making it invalid in their eyes.

Mr. Badmus called on Governor Abba Yusuff of Kano state and National Assembly members elected under NNPP to uphold the current logo, which he described as a symbol of food security and prosperity for the masses. He expressed concern that changing the logo would not resolve the internal issues within the party and could potentially harm its reputation.

The NNPP in the Southern Region is urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reject any attempts to change the party’s logo, emphasizing that the current symbol represents the values and aspirations of its members. They believe that altering the logo will only create further division and confusion within the party.

In conclusion, the South West chapter of NNPP is standing firm in their resolve to preserve the current logo, viewing it as a symbol of unity and progress for the party. They are calling for transparency and unity within the party, rather than resorting to symbolic changes that may not address the underlying issues.
