Philip Shaibu Can Still Become Governor: PDP Lagos Chairman’s Encouraging Words

In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, the Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Philip Aivoji, expressed optimism about the future of the impeached ex-deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu. Despite Shaibu’s recent impeachment by the Edo House of Assembly, Aivoji believes that Shaibu still has a chance to become governor in the future.

The rift between Shaibu and Governor Godwin Obaseki began when Shaibu expressed interest in succeeding Obaseki as governor, leading to a parallel party governorship primary earlier this year. Following Shaibu’s removal, Obaseki swiftly appointed Omobayo Godwin as his new deputy.

Aivoji’s message to Shaibu is clear – remain patient and loyal to the PDP. He emphasized the importance of staying within the party and working towards winning back Edo State. Aivoji reminded Shaibu that the party had groomed him for the position of deputy governor and that he should not give up on his dream of becoming governor.

Despite the current setback, Aivoji believes that Shaibu still has a chance to achieve his goal of becoming governor. He encouraged Shaibu to focus on reconciling with the party and pursuing his ambitions within the PDP.

As the political landscape in Edo State continues to evolve, the future remains uncertain. However, Aivoji’s words serve as a reminder to Shaibu and others that perseverance and dedication to the party can lead to future opportunities and success.
