The Bauchi State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has made a bold move by distancing itself from the Forum of the Nineteen States, including the FCT Chairmen and Secretaries, labeling it as non-existent. In a joint statement released on Friday by the acting Chairman Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu and acting Secretary Danlami Idi Danladi, they vehemently denied the legitimacy of certain individuals who claimed to represent the Northern States’ executives.
These individuals, as clarified by the LP executives, were not recognized as leaders and were actually removed from their positions due to actions that went against the party’s interests. Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu emphasized, “the attention of Bauchi State Labour Party Executives has been drawn to the news broadcast by AIT and some online and social media in which a few individuals claimed to be the Northern States’ Chairmen and Secretaries made some statements which are hereby refuted.”
The AG Chairman further stated, “We categorically say that they are not the Executives of the 19 Northern States, and especially their spokeswoman was deposed from her position due to his antiparty activities when the party was battling to reclaim her stolen mandate.” It is clear that the LP in Bauchi State is not mincing words when it comes to setting the record straight.
Describing the acclaimed individuals as a group of disgruntled, frustrated, and treacherous people, Mohammed Sabitu Aliyu emphasized that they worked against the party’s efforts in times of need. He went on to label them as political power mongers seeking attention through malicious and baseless claims in the name of the northern region.
In a show of solidarity, the LP in Bauchi State affirmed its support for the National Working Committee’s decision to zone the presidential flag bearer position to the southern region in 2027. This move not only showcases the party’s commitment to transparency and integrity but also highlights its dedication to upholding the principles of democracy.
