Justice Ahmad Olanrewaju faithfully observed the 2024 Ramadan fast from start to finish, providing food and gifts to the less fortunate throughout the 30 days. Tragically, just a week before his 71st birthday, after breaking his fast and performing his night prayers, the retired Justice of the Court of Appeal passed away, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and integrity.
Tributes poured in from all corners, with the Emir of Ilorin praising Justice Belgore for his significant contributions to the justice system and humanity. Political and community leaders also lauded his brilliance and character, highlighting his impact on the nation.
But beyond his illustrious career on the bench, Justice Belgore’s journey began in the early 1980s in Kano, where he practiced law and engaged in intellectual debates with fellow scholars. His compassion and ethical approach to legal practice inspired many, leading some to pursue careers in law.
Setting up his own chambers in 1987, Justice Belgore provided free legal services to those in need, embodying the values of honesty, integrity, and transparency. His commitment to his clients and the community earned him respect and admiration.
As a judge, Justice Belgore remained impartial and unbiased, upholding the principles of justice and fairness. His dedication to upholding the rule of law and his unwavering integrity set him apart as a jurist of exceptional caliber.
Born on April 18, 1953, Justice Ahmad Belgore’s career spanned various roles, from serving as a Judge of the High Court of Kwara State to presiding over cases in the Court of Appeal. His legacy as a respected legal luminary and mentor lives on, inspiring future generations to uphold the values of justice and compassion.
