Transnet Freight Rail’s (TFR) efforts to enhance freight volumes hit a roadblock due to a misstep in contractor selection. The chosen joint venture, consisting of Servest, Amahlo Consulting, and Advanced Aerial, faced challenges with manpower and raised concerns over Amahlo Consulting’s previous performance. This resulted in compromised security measures, undoing progress made in ensuring the safety of the critical 700km coal line from Mpumalanga to Richards Bay. As a result, the security contract was terminated after just seven months, with the Amahlo Consulting JV now pursuing legal action against TFR for breach of contract.

AKA’s Parents Criticize Book on Rapper’s Relationship

The parents of the late rapper Kieran ‘AKA’ Forbes have expressed their disapproval of Melinda Ferguson’s upcoming book, “When Love Kills: The Tragic Tale of AKA and Anele,” labeling it as “distasteful and opportunistic.” The book delves into the tumultuous relationship between AKA and Anele, highlighting allegations of abuse and conflicts involving DJ Zinhle, the mother of AKA’s daughter. The Forbes family clarified that they have no association with the book and declined to participate, while Ferguson claimed to have obtained permission from Anele’s father.
