The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched an investigation into the recent violent clashes between factional leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Abuja. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the development in a statement, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace in the territory.

In a disturbing viral video, armed men were seen attacking a young man and vandalizing a bus adorned with images of factional NANS leader Chibuzor Obi. The FCT PPRO assured residents that the police are working to prevent any further disruptions to the peace enjoyed in the area.

Both the substantive NANS president, Lucky Emenike, and the factional president, Chinazor Obi, were unreachable for comments. Additionally, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, did not respond to inquiries.

Previously, a NANS faction had stormed the National Hospital in Abuja, resulting in chaos and patients fleeing their wards. Police intervention was necessary to restore order and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
