Former youth leader of Benue South All Progressive Congress, APC, and Director of Operations, Alia/Ode Campaign Organization, Hon Anthony Adah, has issued a plea for peace among party leaders in the state as the next general elections approach.

In a recent conversation with journalists in Makurdi, Hon Adah expressed concern over the escalating internal crisis within the party, warning that the ongoing discord could have detrimental effects on the party as a whole.

The factionalism within the party, particularly the rift between supporters of Governor Hyacinth Alia and other party leaders, has created a tense atmosphere that threatens the unity and progress of the APC in Benue State.

Adah emphasized the importance of party leaders setting aside personal grievances and prioritizing the greater good of the party and the state. With prominent figures like Senator George Akume and the governor himself in leadership positions, Benue State should ideally be a beacon of progress and harmony.

However, the current state of animosity and disunity within the party is a cause for concern. Adah urged all parties involved in the crisis to seek reconciliation and unity, warning that failure to address these issues promptly could lead to a tumultuous lead-up to the 2027 elections.

He also called on Governor Alia to refrain from discriminating against youth members who are perceived to be aligned with Senator Akume, emphasizing that all members of the APC in the state, including the governor, were brought together by Akume for the success of the party.

As the political landscape in Benue State grows increasingly turbulent, Hon Anthony Adah’s call for peace and unity serves as a timely reminder of the importance of solidarity and cooperation within the APC. It is crucial for party leaders to prioritize the interests of the party and the people of Benue State above personal agendas in order to ensure a smooth and successful electoral process in the future.
