Two Governorship Aspirants in Edo State Resign from Respective Parties

Two prominent governorship aspirants in Edo State, Hon (Dr) Felix Akhabue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Dr Victoria Amu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have resigned from their respective parties.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of PDP Ward 7, Esan West Local Government Area, Akhabue cited “prejudicial activities” of the party’s leadership as the reason for his decision. He expressed gratitude to his genuine friends in the party but emphasized his resignation henceforth.

Similarly, Dr Amu, in her resignation letter to the Ward 4 Chairman of the APC in Owan West Local Government Area, cited “personal and family reasons” for her decision to quit the party. She acknowledged the opportunities given to her to serve in various capacities within the party, including as Special Assistant to past and present governors.
