Ile-Ife Set for N14.9bn Flyover Completion in One Year – Governor Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has unveiled plans for the timely completion of the first flyover in Ile-Ife, setting a target of 12 months for the ambitious project.

Governor Adeleke announced this milestone during the official flag-off ceremony for the flyover construction at Lagere Junction, Ile-Ife, where he was joined by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

Revealing the project’s estimated cost of N14.9 billion, Adeleke emphasized the commitment to adhere to due process and procurement laws. The flyover bridge, awarded to Messrs. Sammya Nigeria Limited, is slated for completion within the stipulated timeframe.

In addition to the flyover, Adeleke initiated the construction of 55 kilometers of roads across the 30 local governments and the area office, amounting to N30.6 billion. These infrastructure developments underscore the government’s dedication to enhancing the state’s infrastructural landscape.

Addressing attendees, including contractors and community members, Adeleke stressed the importance of collaboration for the successful execution of the projects. He assured residents of his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving infrastructural amenities, particularly in Ile-Ife, recognizing its significance as the cradle of the Yoruba race.

In response, Oba Ogunwusi commended Adeleke’s efforts to upgrade infrastructure in Ile-Ife and urged him to extend similar attention to other roads in need of rehabilitation across the metropolis.

Expressing gratitude for the governor’s initiative, Oba Ogunwusi urged Adeleke to ensure the completion of the flyover project, emphasizing the importance of delivering on promises made to the community.

As work commences on these transformative projects, residents eagerly anticipate the positive impact on their daily lives and the overall development of Ile-Ife.
