Pharmacists Rally Against NDLEA’s Interference

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Kaduna State branch, has urgently called upon the Federal Government and the National Assembly to curtail the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) excesses in Kaduna.

Addressing journalists in Kaduna, Pharm. Sunday Ali Okoh, the Chairman of the PSN Kaduna State branch, expressed concern over the NDLEA’s undue obstruction and hindrance of pharmacists’ roles.

Pharmacists play a critical role in public health, including importing, exporting, compounding, dispensing, and counselling medications. However, the NDLEA has repeatedly interfered with these life-saving functions, allegedly prioritizing personal gain over citizens’ well-being. Pharm. Okoh emphasized that sealing up pharmacists effectively denies citizens their right to life.
