Anambra Catholic Priest Rev. Fr. Basil Gbuzuo Kidnapped by Gunmen

In a distressing incident, Reverend Father Basil Chukwuemeka Gbuzuo, a prominent Catholic priest in the Onitsha Diocese of Anambra State, has been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.

The abduction occurred on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, along the Eke Nkpor-Obosi bypass around 8 a.m. Father Gbuzuo serves as a priest in residence at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Ogidi.

The Archbishop Valerian M. Okeke has urgently called for prayers for Father Gbuzuo’s swift and safe release. The Anambra Police Command has launched a manhunt for the abductors, and efforts are underway to secure his freedom.
