Arsenal’s Lokonga Set to Depart Amid Uncertain Future

Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga has hinted at an imminent departure from the Premier League outfit this summer, citing a mutual agreement with the club.

Since joining the Gunners in 2021, Lokonga has grappled to secure a consistent spot under manager Mikel Arteta, prompting loan spells at Crystal Palace last season and Luton during the current campaign.

Reflecting on his situation, the Belgian international revealed discussions with Arsenal had led to the consensus that parting ways would be in his best interest.

“In my discussions with Arsenal, the consensus was that it’s best for me to move on from the club. Now, it’s in the hands of my agent and the club to explore potential opportunities,” Lokonga disclosed in an interview with BBC Radio.

With one year remaining on his contract, plus a one-year option, Lokonga’s future remains uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches. Arsenal and his representatives are now tasked with finding a suitable arrangement for the talented midfielder.
