Former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has reiterated his belief that he and Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election. Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday, Baba-Ahmed firmly stated that he will never stop asserting their victory.

Baba-Ahmed alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing portal (IRev) was deliberately switched off, forcing the results to be returned manually, which he claims distorted the election outcome.

“The iRev was switched off. They returned the results manually. And then the Constitution was twisted, and the meaning of the English language was changed,” Baba-Ahmed said.

He criticized the ruling party’s performance, highlighting unfulfilled campaign promises, increasing insecurity, economic decline, and aggravated corruption.

“We won the 2023 election. I will never stop saying it,” Baba-Ahmed emphasized, expressing confidence in the Labour Party’s current strength. He compared the LP’s position favorably to the state of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the lead-up to the 2015 election, suggesting that the LP is in a far better position now.

Baba-Ahmed also voiced concerns about a potential future scheme to divide Nigeria into six autonomous zones, implying that current governance failures might be part of a larger, troubling plan.

His statements reflect ongoing discontent and a call for vigilance among Nigerians regarding the country’s political and economic direction.
