Chelsea to announce Pochettino’s replacement

Chelsea are poised to announce Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on Monday, Sky Sports reports.

Maresca will replace Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, having agreed to a five-year contract.

The 44-year-old left Leicester City after guiding them back to the Premier League by winning the Championship.

Maresca was Chelsea’s top candidate from a shortlist that included Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna, and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.

His release clause from Leicester is reported to be between £8 million and £10 million.

Maresca will bring six members of his Leicester backroom staff to Chelsea, including ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
