The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, on Tuesday, advised every intending pilgrim in the state to complete the payment of N2.5 million for a Hajj seat before February 20.

The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Yusuf Arrigasiyyu gave the advice in a statement issued by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Salisu Anchau.

Mr Arrigasiyyu said the update in the payment would help guarantee the slot offered to the pilgrims.

He explained that to achieve a successful 2023 Hajj, the agency had secured standard accommodation for the pilgrims in Makkah.

According to him, the accommodations secured by the agency are within the defined parameters of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj in terms of distance, quality and other standards.

“The agency is also working to get decent catering service for its pilgrims as it has gone far in discussing with top catering service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“In the same vain, a committee led by me is reviewing the operation and possessions of official vehicles in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Some of the state’s owned vehicles are outdated, some in bad shape and others requiring maintenance.

“The committee has begun inspecting the vehicles, meeting with custodians and is setting modalities for operation and management of the vehicles,” he said.

Mr Arrigasiyyu said the state has been allocated 5,982 hajj slots for the 2023 pilgrimage by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
