Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has revealed the club’s decision to decline participation in FIFA’s expanded Club World Cup next season. The tournament, scheduled for the United States at the end of the upcoming season, has invited 32 teams worldwide.

Despite FIFA’s offer of approximately €20 million for participation, Ancelotti asserted that Real Madrid and other teams will refuse to participate. Ancelotti, who recently guided Real Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double, emphasized the discrepancy between the value of a single Real Madrid match and FIFA’s proposed compensation for the entire tournament.

“FIFA forgets that the teams will not participate in the new Club World Cup. A single Real Madrid match is worth €20 million, and FIFA wants to give us that amount for the entire tournament. We will decline the invitation,” Ancelotti stated in an interview with Il Giornale.
