Banky W Pursues Master’s Degree at Georgetown University After Electoral Defeat

Musician-turned-politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has returned to the classroom following his defeat in the 2023 Nigerian general election.

Banky W, who ran as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State, lost to Labour Party candidate Thaddeus Attah.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Banky W updated his followers about his new academic pursuit. He revealed that he is currently working towards a master’s degree in policy at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

“Gave up being a CEO to become a student because sometimes you have to let go of what is impressive to gain what is important. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Policy at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The journey of faith continues. Please wish me well,” he posted.

This announcement comes just two months after Banky W survived his fourth cancer surgery, marking another significant chapter in his journey.
