SEN. OSITA IZUNASO HELD FIRST YEAR CONSTITUENCY BRIEFING, REELS OUT ACHIEVEMENTS AND LAYS FOUNDATION BLOCKS FOR PROJECTS

The People’s Senator, Dist. Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso held a successful constituency briefing where over 2000 people of Orlu zone gathered to witness the epoch-making event.

The event which held at Nkwerre country club hall was attended by creme de la creme of the society, which includes traditional rulers, political leaders across various parties, clergy and party faithful. Justice PC Onumajuru (rtd) chaired the occasion largely attended by dignitaries across Orlu zone.

Orlu Peoples Consultative Forum (OPOCA) led by Barr. Rex Anunobi, Sokom, led the array of Orlu political gladiators to the event. HRM Eze E. C. Okeke, the Eze Imo, and HRM Eze Thomas Obiefule, Chairman Orlu zonal council of traditional rulers, Okairuro, led other traditional rulers to the CONSTITUENCY BRIEFING.

Akachia of Nkwerre welcomed the people on behalf of Nkwerre People and various goodwill messages were received from dignitaries.

Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso presented his scorecard for the legislative year. The report includes sponsorship of 5 bills and 11 motions. Among the bills includes the call for the creation of Orlu State, to balance the inequity in creation of states that left South East least among all zones of the country. He also emphasized how the bill for South East Development Committee has so far progressed along with a motion to call for political solution for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to end the agitation in the South East and save the region from economic setback.

Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso, the chairman Senate committee on capital market and other institutions, member constitution review committee and member public accounts senate committee and others, gave detailed account of his stewardship in the 10th session of the red chambers.

Notably, Sen. Izunaso has instituted scholarship scheme where 200 beneficiaries have been awarded scholarship to universities. His target is to reach the target of over 1000 targets within his tenure. He believes that education is the centre point of empowerment and to grow a people and leadership succession starts with education of the people. He has as well sponsored over 110 People drawn from all the 12 Local Government Areas of the senatorial zone in modern cassava processing techniques training for the people. They were trained in industrial starch processing, ethanol production, and so on, produced from cassava processing. He has also concluded the schedule for training of constituents on fish farming.

After training of the beneficiaries he gifted each participant with grinding machines and cash to enable them start business.

The entire People of Orlu zone passed vote of confidence on Sen. Osita Izunaso.

Following the constituency briefing, Sen. Izunaso proceeded to Ohakpu for Thanksgiving mass and inauguration of Kpakpando Credishore scheme. That is a softloan loan scheme to support businesses in Orlu zone with zero interest. Over 500 businesses have received loans and have their businesses thriving courtesy of Izunnaso’s credit loan scheme.

In addition, Sen. Izunaso did foundation laying ceremonies for Ohakpu secondary school fencing, and construction of ultramodern multipurpose hall at Ohaji Egbema LGA. He promised to construct the same multipurpose hall in all the 12 Local Government Areas of the senatorial district.

In Ohakpu, Dist. Sen. Izunaso has installed solar light in villages and promised to ensure it reaches all neighbouring villages to ensure total lightning of the community.

Dist. Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso has continued to set records of good performance and People of Orlu zone are glad with his performance.
