Labor Party’s Abure-led NWC exposed as liars, Okonkwo warns

Veteran Nollywood Actor Kenneth Okonkwo Warns Against Julius Abure’s Labour Party National Working Committee

Veteran Nollywood actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has issued a strong warning to the public to avoid the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party (LP). Okonkwo described Abure’s leadership as a “bunch of ill-fated liars” who are likely to scam people of their hard-earned money.

In a post on his social media handle, the actor stated that the NWC’s latest statement claiming INEC didn’t reject its convention is false. He explained that INEC was not legally notified of the changes in the venue, making the convention void. Additionally, the NWC didn’t allow LP members or their elected delegates to vote for their preferred candidates, which is contrary to Section 82(3) of the Electoral Act.

Okonkwo reminded everyone that Abure’s NWC didn’t organize ward, local, or state congresses before the national convention, and as a result, the event was illegal and rejected by INEC.

According to Okonkwo, joining Abure’s corrupt and incompetent party would be a mistake. The actor himself had distanced himself from the NWC, citing the leadership’s corruption and dishonesty. He lamented that Abure’s party has not learned from its mistakes and still continues to prioritize criminality, corruption, and incompetence.

Okonkwo’s warning to the public is clear: steer clear of the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee of the Labour Party and avoid falling victim to their alleged scam.
