The Labour Party (LP) in Abia state has welcomed a new acting Chairman, Emmanuel Nweze Otti, who has taken over from the former State Chairman, who was elevated to the position of National Vice Chairman, South East. The inauguration took place at the Labour Party Secretariat, Umuahia, with Governor Alex Otti in attendance.

Governor Otti congratulated Emmanuel Otti on his emergence as the new acting State Chairman, acknowledging the constitutional process that led to his selection. He charged the newly inaugurated State Chairman to “do good to all men without discrimination” and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party with integrity and fairness.

The Governor also commended the members of the Labour Party for their unwavering dedication since they joined the party in 2022 and lauded their efforts in dismantling the previous leadership of the PDP in the state. He noted that his administration has made modest efforts to deliver democratic dividends to the people and assured citizens that greater developments are on the horizon.

As the state gears up for the local government elections, Governor Otti expressed confidence in the Labour Party’s ability to secure victory. In his acceptance speech, Emmanuel Otti pledged to carry everyone along and solicited the support of party members, especially as the local government elections draw near.
