APGA Downplays Suspending Governor Soludo, Citing Potential Gain for Rivals

APGA Downplays Suspension of Governor Soludo, Fears Favoring Other Parties

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has dismissed the likelihood of suspending its governor, Charles Soludo, from the party. According to APGA’s National Chairman, Edozie Njoku, the suspension would benefit other political parties, making it a non-viable option for the party.

Speaking in Lagos, Njoku emphasized the current peaceful nature of APGA, which he claimed would be jeopardized if Soludo were suspended. Njoku noted that the parties that would gain from Soludo’s suspension are the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Soludo was the subject of a proposed suspension that was discussed by the National Working Committee (NWC), but it was not resolved due to a lack of agreement among committee members. Njoku acknowledged the dissension within APGA and reiterated the importance of peace, acknowledging that every political party has its challenges.

In a nod to the current political climate in Nigeria, Njoku attributed the party’s internal conflicts to the nation’s numerous problems, stating that this has led to numerous dissenting views. He acknowledged that these disputes are a natural part of politics.

APGA has made it clear that it has no intention of suspending its governor, and instead is focusing on promoting peace and reconciliation within the party. By doing so, APGA may be able to navigate its internal conflicts while avoiding the potential gains of other parties in the process.
