Jaz Karis Performs Intimate Acoustic Covers at V Sessions

What a treat for music lovers! London’s rising songstress Jaz Karis brought her soulful voice to the VIBE office for an intimate performance for our V Sessions series.

Karis kicked off her set with a gorgeous acoustic cover of Robin Thicke’s 2006 hit “Lost Without You.” When asked why she chose this particular song, she simply stated, “I love singing it. I’m a lover girl at heart, it’s a beautiful song.”

But that was just the beginning. Next, Karis treated the audience to a stunning solo acoustic version of her June single “Tequila” featuring Reekado Banks. “Tequila” is all about realizing you’re falling in love – that rush, that feeling – and it’s a love song. Give her celestial performance a watch below:

Jaz Karis has had a productive year, releasing new music that showcases her talent. Before “Tequila,” she dropped “Nice Girls” featuring Mahalia in April and “Met You At A Bar” with Tone Stith in February. And it’s been almost two years since she released her EP, Dear Jaz, on which she handled most of the tracks on her own, aside from the opening title track featuring Kojey Radical.

And the good news keeps coming! Karis just announced that her new single, “Sunset Blvd,” will drop on Thursday, July 25. Check out a sneak peek of the track, shot in a subway station in NYC, above.

With her captivating voice and charming personality, Jaz Karis is definitely one to keep an eye on in the music industry. Stay tuned for more updates on this rising star!
