Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi Mourns Death of Ohanaeze President General Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu

In a heartfelt statement, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has paid tribute to the late Ohanaeze President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. Obi recalled his visit to Iwuanyanwu at the hospital earlier this month, where the elder statesman promised him a speedy recovery.

“It is with great sadness that I received the news of Chief Iwuanyanwu’s passing,” Obi said. “I am still trying to come to terms with the devastating reports of his death, which have left all who knew him heartbroken.”

Obi described Iwuanyanwu as a bridge builder who remained committed to the peaceful coexistence of the nation. He praised the late leader’s commitment to justice, equity, progress, and development, which transcended tribal boundaries.

Iwuanyanwu, a revered father figure, had always provided Obi with valuable advice. During their hospital visit, he promised to continue contributing to the nation’s progress, and Obi had continued to pray for his quick and full recovery until receiving the sad news of his death.

Obi extended his condolences to Iwuanyanwu’s immediate family, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, and the entire nation. He prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss and grant Iwuanyanwu eternal rest.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s passing is a significant loss to Nigeria, and his legacy will be remembered for his tireless efforts to promote peace, unity, and development in the country.
