PDP Suspends Kogi State Ad-Hoc Delegate Congresses Over Irregularities

In a shocking turn of events, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the three ad-hoc delegate congresses in the 239 wards of Kogi State, citing alleged irregularities. The decision was announced in a letter dated July 27, 2024, signed by Senator Laah Dajuma, Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee.

According to the letter, a grave anomaly occurred before the exercise, compromising the integrity of the congress. The officiating officers deployed to conduct the exercise arrived with impersonators, purported to be returning officers from Nasarawa State, FCT, Imo, and Kano State, respectively.

The development rendered the entire process null and void, with the PDP promising to notify the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of a new date once the process is concluded. The letter, addressed to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Lokoja, Kogi State, requested prompt attention to the matter.
