Bayelsa APC Elders Slam Governor Diri for Accusing Sylva of Sponsoring Protests

Bayelsa APC Elders Slam Governor Diri Over Allegations Against Timipre Sylva

The All Progressives Congress (APC) elders in Bayelsa State have launched a scathing attack on Governor Douye Diri, accusing him of being a double agent who is desperate to get the party’s stolen mandate at the court. The elders, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Chief Clarkson Ayebaepreye, slammed Diri for accusing former Petroleum Minister (State), Chief Timipre Sylva, of sponsoring the hardship protest in the state.

According to the statement, Sylva had recently begged Nigerian youths to stand by President Bola Tinubu and give him more time to solve the country’s problems. The APC elders noted that it was curious that Diri, a governor in office, would wait so long to issue a message after getting prompting from Sylva’s mature statement.

The elders accused Diri of working for and heavily sponsoring the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and his direct boss, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, during the last election. They claimed that Diri did everything within his power to truncate Tinubu’s victory and has now suddenly become a last-minute friend of the APC in Abuja and the Villa.

The statement further alleged that Diri has been ordered by Atiku to coordinate protests in Bayelsa State and that everyone can see through his gaslighting and deceptions. The APC in Bayelsa State has vowed not to partake or take lightly to any protest in the state.

The elders also accused Diri of making efforts to arrest APC youths planning pro-Tinubu’s movement in Bayelsa, while sponsoring people to protest against Tinubu. They claimed that Diri’s behavior is narcissistic and treacherous, and that his love for the APC will be known after the Supreme Court judgment.

The statement concluded by urging Diri to come out and tell the public his role during the last Presidential elections, who he sponsored, and who he and his followers voted for. The APC elders also accused Diri of lobbying to be Atiku’s vice and warned that his actions will not go unpunished.
