PDP Demands Immediate Review of Anti-People Policies Amidst Nationwide Protests

Nigerian Opposition Party Demands Government Review of "Suffocating" Policies

Abuja, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Federal Government to immediately review its "anti-people" policies, which are having a devastating impact on the country. The opposition party made the plea on Tuesday during the first day of nationwide hunger protests led by citizens across major cities in Nigeria.

According to the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, the protests would have been unnecessary if the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had listened to the party’s previous advice on how to address the country’s economic challenges.

"It’s alarming that instead of engaging Nigerians and addressing their concerns, the APC allegedly recruited hoodlums to instigate violence and justify a clampdown," Ologunagba said.

The PDP claimed that over 120 million Nigerians have become destitute, unable to afford basic necessities such as food and shelter, due to the APC’s policies. The party’s latest statistics show that the poverty rate in the country has soared to over 40%.

Nigerians are now calling for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to personally address the nation, announce major policy reviews, and order an investigation into the alleged looting of subsidy and palliative funds.

The PDP said that the APC’s policies have suffocated the lives of citizens, making it impossible for them to survive. "There is hunger and destitution in the land. The reaction of hungry people is better imagined! Mr President, please act now," Ologunagba said.

As the hunger protests continue across Nigeria, citizens are holding their breaths, hoping that the government will listen to their cries and take immediate action to alleviate their suffering.
