Labour Party Candidate Returns to Edo State to Relaunch Governorship Campaigns

Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate in the forthcoming Edo governorship election, has returned to Benin City to recommence campaigns for the poll. Akpata and his team had earlier embarked on a tour to the UK and Europe for meetings with Edo indigenes.

During his arrival in the state capital on Tuesday, Akpata revealed that his team held town hall gatherings in these locations. He explained that the party had given its commitment to ensuring that Edo State receives the necessary attention to address issues affecting it, including security and ease of doing business.

The Edo State governorship election is scheduled to take place on September 21st, 2024, with Akpata and other heavyweights expected to battle it out. It remains to be seen how this latest development will impact the political landscape in Edo State as election day approaches.
