President Tinubu Upholds Rule of Law, Promotes Separation of Powers in National Conference

President Bola Tinubu has reiterated the commitment of his administration to uphold the rule of law, adhere to the principles of separation of powers, and tolerate dissenting views within theambit of the laws of Nigeria. speaking at the Annual General Conference of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos State.

In his address during the conference, President Tinubu also acknowledged the NBA’s sterling history of promoting Democratic ideals and the rule of law. Acknowledging the challenges faced by the Legal profession, he assured that every effort would be made to ensure efficient adjudication and ease out the burden on judges.

Tolerating Dissent and Reform

Tinubu went further to urge Nigerian lawyers, as well as citizens, to provide support for his administration’s efforts towowards building a Nigeria where they can achieve their dreams. He thanked the Supreme Court for consistently upkeeping good governance and the tenements of democracy in the country.

He hailed the recent decision of the highest Nigerian court to grant financial autonomy to localGovernment councils, believing it would stimulate a myriad of developments at the grassroots level.
