Bogota, Colombia – The Nigerian women’s U-20 team, Falconets, are set to kick off their 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign against the Korean Republic at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo on Monday morning.

Led by head coach Chris Danjuma, the West Africans have spent two weeks in Bogota perfecting their strategies for the competition. Prior to their arrival in Colombia, the Falconets played two friendly matches against Australia and Mexico, emerging victorious against the Australians with a 3-1 scoreline, while losing 1-0 to the Mexicans.

In a recent interview, Danjuma emphasized the importance of a positive start to the tournament. "We are working on our tactics and techniques, to get it right when we play the Koreans. That is the first and foremost assignment. Once we get it right against the Koreans, we will then set out for the Germans," he said.

The Falconets coach expressed his satisfaction with the team’s current situation, stating that there are no reported cases of injury in camp. "I am very happy that we have no case of injury in camp. The girls are all ready to go out there and make Nigeria proud."

The stage is set for an exciting encounter on Monday, and fans around the world will be eagerly watching to see if the Falconets can make a bold statement against the Korean Republic.
